Demitri had arrived at Hogwarts barely two weeks ago and he was not too happy about it. When he had first gotten the assignment he was told that the "mudblood" issue was running rampant around the campus, but he hadn't believed it. Once he got there he was shocked to realize that they were everywhere. The odds were stacked against the purebloods and what was even worse it had seemed that some purebloods were happily becoming bloodtraitors. Disgracing their family's nobility one mudblood at a time.
Demitri of course hadn't said any of this to anyone other than his Durmstrang " brothers" because it would have blown their cover. He was suppose to be happy here, happy being with the bloodtraitors and mudbloods. It brought him a small amount of satisfaction to know that someday soon he would find a stupid girl to break her heart and then kill.
Girls were the one thing that demetri did like about this place. The girls were exceptionally beautiful. He hadn't introduced himself to anyone yet, he was biding his time..becoming use to his surroundings. It was strange to think that the darklord went here. With all of the mudbloods and rules.
Demetri leaned against a nearby tree and watched the stream of people pouring into the courtyard.

Evangeline, or Veah as she preferred, was looking around for her brothers, either one. When she checked their usual places, the Great Hall, and even the library, she couldn't find any trace of her Slytherin brothers. As just finished searching the castle; so she decided to move onto the grounds, see if she could find them there. She tried calling them through the looking glass but they wouldn't pick up.
The only reason she was really looking for them was because she was bored; she had nothing to do and she was feeling lonely. The three of them never really got a chance to hang out, especially since she was in Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin. Sometimes she wished the hat would've put her in Slytherin, but she knew she wouldn't totally fit in. Her blood was one thing, she would be fine since she was a pureblood, but her heart was another. She was too kind for a Slytherin, or so her brothers said.
As she went into the courtyard, past a tree, she jumped as she felt something vibrate and burn in her pocket, thus dropping her bag, spilling her parchment and books onto the ground. With a groan, she knelt down to pick them up, silently cursing her brothers for finally responding through the three way looking glass they all held for communication.

Demetri had watched as a girl walked past him and then strangely jumped and spilled all of her papers. He raised on eyebrow watching her start to pick up the papers. Demetri felt somewhat pleased with himself that he didn't even make so much as a snicker when she dropped her things, that would have been unkind and unkind was not what he needed to be viewed as. He walked forward towards the girl and with one swift flick of his wand had the papers that were strewn across the ground held neatly in his hand. He smiled and offered them to her.
" Missing these?"
Demetri glanced at her robes which where blue. He was almost certain that those colors meant she was a ravenclaw which was supposedly the wittiest students. Demetri himself wasn't lacking too much in the brains department but unfortunately what he did lack was the care to actually do any work or take any tests which made his scores exceedingly low.
He waited for the girls response and hoped that his accent wasn't too hard for her to understand. He had tried to make it a bit more understandable, but speaking a certain way your whole life isn't easily changed especially in a meager two months.

Veah jumped when she heard the voice. It was obviously a male, and judging by his accent, he was one of the Durmstrang transfers. With an inward groan she smiled slightly, "Oh, yeah. Thanks." She mentally berated herself on looking like a fool in front of a transfer; she didn't like looking like something she was not. Taking the papers from his hand, Veah put them back in her bag. Turning back towards the transfer, Veah couldn't help but be polite; if she were anything like her brothers, she would've just left, but she wasn't.
"I'm Evangeline, by the way, Evangeline Hunters. I'd prefer Veah though, almost everyone calls me that." She smiled slightly, pausing to think of a way to justify her previous clumsy actions. "I'm not usually this clumsy, just to let you know. Seems as if you caught me at the wrong time. Sorry for you having to see...my, uh...my little mishap." she tried to explain. The looking glass shook once again, but Veah ignored it. 'Serves them right for trying to ignore me like that!'
Glancing back at the transfer she stuck out her hand in greeting. "I'm from Ravenclaw house...and you, you're a transfer?" the question was said more as a statement, but she was never good at trying to make small talk. 'Ok, I suck at talking to people; after this I'll just go back to the dorm or something...' At least, she thought that was the plan.

As the girl...Veah started to tell him her reasons why she was rarely clumsy he couldn't help but notice that she was very pretty. She wasn't striking in the way that most americans preferred their beauties..as blonde and tan..it was an understated beauty. The way her hair stood out and made her eyes shine, the way her cheeks were angled and the way she smiled. He briefly wondered if she would have to die, because that would be a terrible shame. Those thoughts quickly passed and he smiled handsomly.
" Nice to meet you Veah... Im Demetri Tolstoy from Durmstrang. So Ravenclaw...that means your smart, correct? Sorry these " house" terms are new to me. "
It wasn't a lie. They were strange whoever thought that students should be encouraged to act different? It was suppose to be about a common goal. A common alliance against others, like certain bloodtraitors. True not everyone in his school agreed with those virtues, but they were quickly taken care of or hid their thoughts.
Demetri glanced around the courtyard while briefly wondering where his other " brothers " were. They had adopted the term " brothers" because that was all they could rely on: each other. They had to depend on the alliance of their mission or else the whole thing would fall apart and their safety would be jeopardized from both other students and the dark lord himself.

Veah smiled kindly, "I guess you can say that. It's nothing big really; just a way to separate the students. Ravenclaw are for the wise and knowledgeable, along with witty." her eyes twinkled as she added that part. "The other houses, well; Slytherin is where the cunning and ambitious go; Gryffindor's the brave and daring; while Hufflepuff's the just and loyal." she explained the house differences. She briefly wondered if Durmstrang had any houses, but she figured not, because then it wouldn't be a problem understanding the houses, right? Shaking the thought out of her head, Veah looked towards Demetri, he said his name was, and saw him look around the courtyard.
"Sorry, were you looking for someone? Would you like some help?" her looking glass shook again, multiple times. Guilt gnawed at her for ignoring her brothers for so long; so she glanced quickly at the looking glass; having it out for no longer than a second; after all, she shouldn't be carrying a looking glass around in school. Shaking her head slightly at her brothers, Veah turned towards Demetri.
"So, now that you know about Hogwarts houses, what's Durmstrang like?" she thought for a moment, "My brothers could've gone there, but they chose to stay here, since I wouldn't have been able to have gone in my first year." she added as an after thought. In truth, she really was curious about Durmstrang, and her brothers could've chosen to have gone to the all boys school. However, since it was all boys, that meant they couldn't be in the same school as Veah; so they chose to go to Hogwarts, just for her. She smiled slightly at the memory, yup, those were her brothers.

Dimitri listened as she explained the houses, he had understood it for the most part but it was still a strange concept. He briefly wondered if talking to Ravenclaws were good ideas. If they caught on to the dark lord's plan then all hell would break loose. They could be blackmailed and then the students involved would be killed. Perhaps they could find allies, but there was no promises and it might just be a good idea to keep his distance from " the witty and wise"
When Veah asked if he was looking for someone he shook his head.
"Not really, Just taking in the sites."
When she spoke of her brothers and asked about Durmstrang he smiled. So she was pureblood. He wondered who her brothers were and exactly how much of an interest they had in Durmstrang. There was talk among himself and his brothers about recruiting and if this girl and her family were pure and interested then they might have their first canidates.
" Well, its a lot colder, and things aren't quite so...cheerful.Its a bit more strict..more focus on discipline. But I have to say we have you beat on the beauty. The mountains surrounding the castle are very beautiful."
He smiled a little at the thought of Durmstang. It was his home away from home. Not the most happiest place, but it was what he knew, it was what he had grown to love.
" You come from a big family? "
His mind briefly went to his sister but dismissed that thought, she was safer at home.

Veah nodded as Demetri mentioned about looking at the sites; in truth, though, she found the castle and the lake to be the best view at Hogwarts. The view from the towers were high, sure you could see farther, but around Hogwarts was nothing really; it just ruined the point of having a tower, well to Veah it seemed that way. She preferred a view closer to the ground, where you could see the sparkle of the stars and moon in the Black Lake.
She listened intently as Demetri talked about Durmstrang; So that's what my brothers would've gone to' she briefly thought. When he spoke of the mountains that surrounded the castle Veah couldn't help but pout in jealousy; "Lucky you are then; I wish Hogwarts had something else besides the lake to look at."
When he asked about her family Veah smiled a bit; talking about them always brought a smile to her face, it meant she could reminisce about the 'good ol' times'. "Well, not really; not compared to some others. I only have two brothers, and I'm the youngest. My parents only have one sibling combined, and that's from my mom's side. So, we're really just a small family." She winced slightly as she thought of her brothers, and the looking glass that started the whole meeting between her and Demetri. Perhaps he knew of them, since they should be around the same year; she was pretty certain Demetri was a seventh year, he just didn't seem like a sixth year to her for some reason. She blamed it on Kane and the way he acted.
"Both my brothers are attending Hogwarts too, in fact. My eldest brother is Cedric, he's a seventh year. Kane, my other brother is a sixth year...they're both in Slytherin House." she paused, as if wondering if she should ask whether he knew one of them. Deciding against it, as he'd probably tell her if one of them was familiar with him, she instead asked if he came from a big family, and if he had any siblings.

Demitri smiled when she said he was lucky about the view. The girl reminded him way too much of his sister, who wanted to travel with him to see other " more beautiful" parts of the world. She hated the mountains and the weather, she begged their father to send her to Hogwarts but he had of course refused to send his pureblood daughter to a mudblood loving school.
"Well the lake isn't too bad. At least you get to enjoy it. Where im from the weather is usually way too cold to go near water. "
Demitri nodded when she said she came from a small family. He also came from a small family and he often wondered what it would be like to have lots of relatives and brothers and sisters. He grew to love his brothers as one of his own true brothers, but it wasn't the same thing as blood.
" I'll have to introduce myself to them. Do they by any chance play quidditch? I was placed on the Slytherin team as the new beater. "
He wondered why she had became a ravenclaw while the rest of her family was in Slytherin? He was almost certain that most family members got sorted into the same house which made sense.
" Do you mind if I ask why you are in Ravenclaw and they are in Slytherin? And dont try saying its because females are inherently smarter. "
He smiled playfully.

When he spoke about the weather, Veah smiled slightly. He had a point there; but still, sometimes she just wished she had something other than the lake, especially when you have to see it everyday. Plus, she didn't think it looked the same with other people around it and playing in it; it just seemed to ruin everything for her. Still, Demetri had a point.
"Yeah, I guess you have a point." she nodded thoughtfully. When Demetri asked about her brothers, Veah knew they hadn't met yet. They'd probably get along, but her brothers get along with everyone, they were very charismatic. She thought about it for a moment, they hadn't said anything about Quidditch at all to her, so she didn't really know. "Well, I'm not really sure if they're going to try out this year. They never said anything about it...maybe they're busy with something else?" she intended to ask the last part to herself, accidentally saying it outloud. Shrugging she allowed a grin onto her face when Demetri asked about her sorting.
"Though females ARE inherently smarter, my family doesn't think that's why I was sorted into Ravenclaw." she paused for a moment, her thoughts on what her family first though about her sorting running through her mind. She was the second Ravenclaw in the family, her maternal Grandmother being one herself. "Well, they think it's because I'm not...well, not ambitious enough, per say, to be in Slytherin. Plus, I've always been wanting to learn about everything; gaining knowledge has been my main goal in well, everything. But, hey, who knows? It's the hat's choice after all..."
She thought about her sorting, the first thing the hat said to her. It was simple really, all it said to her was "Different than your brothers you are." That was all it said to her, really, before shouting out Ravenclaw for the Great Hall to hear.
Turning to Demetri Veah smiled slightly, "So, which house do you think you'd end up being sorted into if you went here? I'd say Slytherin, you seem more like a Slytherin than anything...maybe Ravenclaw, but most likely Slytherin." she stated. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were out of question if he went to Durmstrang; no chance whatsoever, well, for Hufflepuff that is. Gryffindor was a chance, but not likely. Ravenclaw was a safe bet; but Slytherin was the most likely. Still, she couldn't help but wonder what house he'd end up being in.

Demitri nodded when Veah mentioned that she didnt know what her brothers were up to. He hoped hadn't been to the slytherin's quidditch room, but he was excited. He loved playing the game, just thinking of it made him get antsy. There was nothing like the rush of the wind and the roar of the crowd to calm and focus him. It was like doing something he was born to do. Demetri laughed when she had said that women were smarter. He rolled his eyes playfully. He would never had said so to the girl, but there were just some things that men were better at. Strategizing, planning, and plotting were just more better with men doing them..women let their emotions get in the way. A man would strike down anyone necessary to obtain his goals, or his country's goals...a woman would stop to pick flowers.....or run off with a muggle.
" Ambitious is nothing without knowledge so don't let them make you feel bad for that one. "
When Veah asked what house he thought he would be sorted into it really wasn't a question. He would be placed in Slytherin. To benefit his cover though he pretended to think about it. He truly couldn't see himself as a ravenclaw or heaven forbid...hufflepuff.
" I think it would be Slytherin. I have..ambition and I think I would agree with their...ways of thinking."
The last part was a bit hard to say without blatantly screaming I hate mudbloods. Still she had brothers in Slytherin surely she felt the same way they did.
" So what are your plans after graduating?"

Veah smiled when Demetri mentioned that ambition was nothing without knowledge; it was true, sort of. You could be ambitious without knowledge; but to be the Slytherin ambitious, you needed knowledge. Knowledge to be able to get what you want; knowledge to be able to manipulate.
Everything the Slytherin way needed knowledge; so she was Slytherin, in a way. It was just the way she used the knowledge that made her Ravenclaw and not Slytherin. "True, true; but then again, everything is nothing without knowledge, right?"
When Demetri made his comment about being in Slytherin, and his justifications, Veah nodded. She wasn't that surprised she supposed; her brothers were the same; but she wasn't. At least, not yet anyways; her brothers were trying to convince her to see things like they did, but she couldn't see the point. It wasn't as if she was against them either, she saw no point in the impending war that was bound to happen. It was...well, useless. So, when she heard Demetri's answer as to which house he'd be in, she just nodded.
When he asked about her plans after graduating, Veah laughed slightly. "To be honest, I haven't thought about it much. I am after all, only in my fifth year; all I'm worrying about it my OWLs." In truth, she had thought about it; but she didn't know what she could be. What would be good enough t pursue if she had the knowledge she needed. The only thing she knew she saw herself doing was traveling, traveling the world in search for the hidden knowledge.
Laughing slightly, she smiled, "I guess, when I think about it, that I'd be a professor or something; more likely someone who travels to see what the world has to offer." she trailed off in thought. The world was full of secrets, and she was the type to just get up and try and find them after Hogwarts.
"What about you? You going to stick...stick with the...the ways of thinking?"
